Fatty's commencement 2012

After a short vacation to New York City, we took Megabus to State College! Awwwww...I miss State College the most since my last visit in year 2011. I miss the quiet small town, the breeze, beautiful flowers, greenish grasses, nice architecture of house, and relax lifestyle. Let me bring you back to the place that I love the most again!

My dream house

The green and clean grass that I love the most!

It was spring, the flowers blossom everywhere!

Crystal clear pond in Pennsylvania State University

The day before the commencement, both me and Fatty revisiting the past - Saint's Cafe in downtown, a small cafe that we both adore the most.

The man ordering my favourite :)

I really enjoy the coffee and cheesecake there. Each sip of the hot coffee in the cold weather touched my heart. I was deeply touched and indeed I am blessed all these while as I still have chance to revisit places that I yearned the most.

With Fatty's Mama. Aaawww I love the tulips!

After slacking around the small town, we back to Fatty's apartment to bath and dress up for the evening honors degree commencement.

I love my Barbie's hair aka short hair with bangs.

After we had done, we then went to Pennsylvania State University for Fatty's commencement.

Entrance of the university

At first we thought we were early, but half way walking, Fatty's besties non-stop calling him as most graduates already entered the hall. We then rushed to the hall and find a seat while Fatty quickly wore up his graduation gown and report himself at the reception.

Fatty, where are you??

Congratz to you nahh!!

Fatty is one of the honors graduates with highest distinction! :O Why you so smart?

After the ceremony, of course is photo session time. Basically I was camera-lady that day, busy helping him take down as much nice photo as possible to remember the most precious moment in his life. Congratz to you again Fatty, I am so proud of you! You are wayyyyyy of too smart until I wondered what are the things that filled in your brain. Can you share with me your wisdom? Teeheeee....

The medal on Fatty's neck is the medal for honors graduate. In US, all university offer comes with an ordinary degree without honors. If you wish to get the honors degree, you have to register yourself to a supervisor during freshmen or sophomore year and start to do your research project. Mind you, I didn't know the IMPORTANCE of the word HONORS until I came across with my graduate studies. Normally, university will only accept students that have Honors degree (at least a year of research and write up thesis), Malaysian students, you are lucky because all our degree in university comes together with honors degree.

L-R: Fatty Aunty, Fatty Mama, Fatty, Shorty

Fatty Papa wasn't able to go US with us as he still need to run his business. Anyway, Fatty you know your Papa loves you and proud of you!

Fatty besties who also honors graduates

After about half an hour, Fatty's research supervisor, Prof. Maria and her husband came to school and drive us to her house for celebration. So friendly and nice huh... She even prepared many delicious food for us including traditional Russian food, pizza, cake, and she also made some efforts to cook Malaysia curry! *so touch!!*

Maria's house along Waupelani Drive (p/s: she prefers us not to call her Prof.)

Her house is very huge and beautiful, very typical nice house that we watched from movie. While Fatty talking to Maria at a side, Fatty Mama and Fatty Aunty non stop taking photos there as they too amazed with the huge house!lol

Appetizer

Traditional Russian Pizza

Yummy curry chicken with nasi kunyit

Cake as dessert :)

It was a blessed that I can visit to US especially State College for 2 consecutive years. State College (it is a town name, not a college name =.=) indeed the best place to stay, I hope I still have chance to come back to this awesome place someday in future again!

Gonna end this post by spamming you guys a few more photos in State College! :)

Sakura? Not really, I also don't know what is the flower name.

Flowers in the university

White and Pink tulips!

Flowers blossom in spring, I hope spring bring a new hope to everyone of you!

Stay tuned for my next post in California!

New York City 2012 again!

I was back in United State again in 2012 after a year back! This time is for Fatty's commencement! p/s: In US they use commencement instead of convocation, don't ask why, because I don't know why! Paise ahh...

Something different this time as comparing with the last trip, because Fatty Mama and Fatty Aunty were followed me! *sounds so pro huh follow me..blekk* Anyway, again we arrived at JFK Airport in New York, Fatty brought us to Canal Street (China Town) to check in our hotel. This hotel is so lousy as comparing to the one I stayed in Brooklyn in 2011, because the heater is not functioning! Stupid!!!! I nearly cold until die here! Both of my legs were cramped! Already suffer from jet-lagged, and now it is so cold, how to sleep worrr! So I decided to wake up and then webcam with Mom!! T.T serious homesick again this time! :'(

After chatting for an hour, I decided to bath and get ready earlier for the daily tour!

View outside our hotel

Since we stayed in Canal Street, so we decided to have our first breakfast in one of the Chinese Restaurant. Yipeeee! Not to say I dislike western food, but I already terrified by their extreme taste (too salty/sweet, too oily) since last visit in 2011. And also, I prefer to have a hot drink in this cold weather! (Typical breakfast drinks in US: COLD milk, COLD orange juice) I was very hungry at that time, so we just simply went into one of the restaurant to enjoy our breakfast!

L-R: Fatty Aunty and Fatty Mama

Nothing much in The Big Apple this time, we visited the same place like in year 2011: Statue of Liberty, Times Square, China Town. Due to time constraint this time, we didn't brought them to Brooklyn Bridge.

Me with bangs *Fatty claimed that I looked ugly with bangs* sob sob

What different this time was we went to Central Park in Manhattan for a walk. I simply love the green leafs and grass here! After that, we went to Ichiumi to enjoy Japanese Buffet! Since it was highly recommended by Fatty's friend, so we decided to give it a try. We walked and walked and walked, keep on taking the wrong path, I was again so hungry and down with cold, the wrong path made so frustrated! After few trial and error of different street, finally we are here!

Tired + hungry + pissed look

Tadaaaaa this is Fatty's portion of food. I was too hungry so I didn't bother to snap photo on my portion. lol

I seldom eat buffet, first is because it is expensive, and secondly it is not worth for me to eat buffet because my portion is not worth the price! Anyway, Ichiumi, worth a try! Very Yummy!

We didn't stay any longer in New York City this time because Fatty still have one more final exam before his commencement.

I will update on the visit to State College and Fatty's commencement for the next post! Stay tuned dude!

Till then, take care!

Fort Lauderdale to Grand Bahama Island

Pick up from the post in Orlando, Fatty and me took flight from Orlando International Airport to Fort Lauderdale. We been physically and mentally tired after the Florida trip, so we decided to order room service and get a good rest.

The next day, we took cab to Port Everglades to catch our cruise.

The Discovery Cruise to Grand Bahama Island

Straight we went to dining hall to queue for our breakfast. Sorry ahh..very hungry that time, so didn't snap many photos in the dinning hall, I just managed to snap this and also my food photos..lol

People also can't wait for their yummy buffet

Typical american's breakfast

After we had our breakfast, then we headed out to enjoy the breeze. Once we were at the outdoor, it was so windy until I hardly take any nice photo.

You may guess how windy it is from my messy hair!

Another shot of the love birds

Teehee..first time take cruise, that's why have to take few more photos :D

I used to have motion sickness no matter I take car or flight, God knows I were also suffer from the motion sickness on the cruise! I forgot to take the pill before the departure of cruise, I was so dizzy on the cruise and the end I not really enjoy the whole journey. I just can't wait to reach the island. After the feeling of throw up, Fatty decided brought me to guest lounge to have a rest.

The guest lounge

This is me sleeping :(

I hate myself of being weak all the time and because of the dizziness, I had missed all the fun on the cruise. They had casino, swimming pool, bar lounge, and most importantly they had singer singing on the stage! I missed most of it! :'(

This is the price list of various drink at the bar lounge

After an hour of sleeping, I decided to go outdoor to enjoy the warm sun.

While most people wore bikini for sunbath, I wrapped myself like a dumpling. Yes I know I know...you all want to say I should enjoy the good weather, but this is me! I dislike sun, I dislike my skin become tanned, I dislike freckles on my face!

After few hours, finally we are here - Grand Bahama Island!

At Junkanoo Beach Club

The beach is so beautiful here!! Minus the sunny weather, everything is perfect here! The water is clean and crystal clear while the sand is so fluffy soft!

Many tourists rented chair and umbrella to sunbath.

I seriously can't get the fun behind why people like to sunbath until their whole body became reddish. Malaysia is already hot enough, I "enjoy" the sun throughout 365 days per year. So I would just escape from sun whenever I can!

My yummy lunch here. The taste is awesome! I love spicy food!

Our footprints at the sunny beach

One step, two steps, I will follow you and continue to print more of our footprints in new place, new chapter of life.

Silver Lining in Universal Studio Orlando

Taking up from where I left off, we couldn't make our trip to Universal Studio on the next day after the case of hotel break in. Instead, both me and Fatty need to go to the nearby Walmart to replenish our clothing and some daily necessities. After a day of depression and grieve, we moved on.

We visited to Universal Studio Orlando on the third day of our Florida trip.

Since I was so depress with the lost, I decided to play all the scary snaky rides. Ambitiously, I patted my chest and told Fatty I'm going to scream out my lungs to release all my tension and bad emotion! But not until I was stunned by the screaming from all directions in the theme park. *almost can't stand still when I saw the scary snaky roller coaster*

My ugly blue but comfortable Tee that purchased from Walmart. * It is my pajamas now..Tehee*

Then we headed to watch some shows. With still much of grieving in my heart, I dragged myself to this theater to watch how those Hollywood director film the horror movie.

With my childhood horror movie toy - Chucky!

Since Fatty already visited to Universal Studio Orlando on his last Christmas in 2010, he told me later the host gonna randomly choose one audience to the stage and do some demonstration. After we picked a seat at the center row, I sat down with so much of curiosity in my mind. Are they going to show me how they film Chucky? Are they act like a zombie and suck out people blood yet the person still alive?Dinosaur?King Kong?Vampire?Bullet shooting?

Finally the show started with a brief introduction by two humorous hosts. Owwhh..at last I was laughing! I was laughing and smiling after all the bad things happened in our hotel! After some jokes and laughs, one of the hosts started to choose the lucky one to the stage.

Hell ya, after my hotel being chosen to be broken in, now I was chosen to go on stage to do demonstration!!! Why me? There are so many audience in the hall, those who sitting in front me and behind me! Noooo!! Nooo...I don't want!! To act sporty like those ang mos, I stood up with a calm face and walked to the stage after the big applause from others. Tranquilly, I smiled and made a simple introduction about myself but deep in my heart I scared like hell!

The host tried to scare me by putting many fake bleeding hands on me.

Then, here started the peak of the whole show. They tried to demo on the cutting hand by using a modified real knife. Being humorous all the time, the host asked me to scream as much as I can to scare the audience. I didn't feel anything at first when looking at the real knife because I knew it wouldn't hurt me and of course, I won't die here. Until they really cut on me, I scream!!! *ahhhhhhhhhh ahhhhhhhh helppppppppp meeeee!!!!

You can see the red thingy flow out from my hand, it is blood! What? They cut my hand until bleeding and my hand gonna fall apart?! The audience saw I scream so much and stomping, the respond of them were like "oohhh nooo,is it really cut her?is she in pain?seriously?" Well, I was not terrified by the the knife cutting, I was disgusted by the fake blood! It was so cold and flooding on my hand! Eewwwww!

Okie, please do not try it at home yourself because firstly, the knife itself already modified with an arc shape, once they cut on my hand and the arc shape would hold onto my hand with fake blood flowed around. Secondly, these two hosts were trained to do the demonstration, so of course they would make sure my safety.

Act cute photos with the hosts after all the terrible stuffs that they tried to horrify me.

It was a profoundly affecting 15 minutes for me on the stage, at least they had put a smile on my face. People said there is always a silver lining behind each unfortunate, most importantly is have faith. Humor + Faith = Recovery, something I learnt from a book.

We toured around in the theme park and tried some rides, from the longest minutes ride to the highest roller coaster, we tried them! However, as the age increasing each year, the fear also started to accumulate. The fear of "heart dropping" when the roller coaster scroll down from highest peak. I love the stimulation in heart during my teenage but not now. I simply dislike the feeling of "going to die soon but not really dying". The fear had caused me so dizzy and eventually I teared. :'(

We went on to some theme parks under a hot sun with dry weather. I don't sweat here even though it is summer due to the dry air, but as you can see from the photos below, I got tanned! *ugly face*

Fatty and me at Jurassic Park

At Harry Potter Theme Park with fake snow on the roof

We had lost our clothing, laptop, valuable belongings, but we still have each other. Holding hands together, we went on to our next station - Fort Lauderdale to Grand Bahama Island which I will be going to blog about it soon.
